Deity (Covenant #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Blog Tour Stop

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 DEITY

HOLY GODS! In this third installment to the Covenant Series so much has happened to Alex. Alex has had to fight her way through so much. She lost her mother, she lost her best friend and she has no one except Seth. Lord Seth is something else. He is so hot and cold with her that she is not sure what to make of him. She knows the feelings she has have to do with the connection they have but she is not sure if she wants a relationship with him. She said she would give it a try and she is but things are not always as they seem so she is being very cautious with Seth.

Alex knows what her heart wants but she also knows that for Aiden and her to be together out in the open things would have to change. They are forbidden to be together and if they were to ever get caught she wold become a servant and never see him again. With her approaching birthday coming she and Seth are spending more and more time together and every time they kiss she gets a new mark. The marks are coming faster than ever and Alex is scared.

As her birthday approaches she sees a side to Seth that she does not like and with that comes a slew of questions and answers she may not want to know. Is Seth keeping secrets? IS her step father up to no good and is hiding behind Seth and the awakening? What happens in this book is EPIC and what Alex finds out and who she ends up with will totally blow your mind!

Now, let the hunt begin:

Once upon a time there were bears. There was a mama bear, a papa bear, and a baby bear. Mama bear made porridge for breakfast, and they all sat down to eat. Papa Bear said, “My porridge is too hot.” Mama Bear said, “My pumpkin is too cold.” Baby Bear didn’t even try his because he wanted pancakes. Papa Bear thought they should take a walk while his porridge cooled. So they did.

While they were gone, a young girl named Goldilocks stumbled upon their cabin. The door was open so she went inside. She tried the porridge. One was too hot. One was too cold. But the third was just right. She ate until it was gone.

Next, she went to the living room to watch some television. She sat in one chair after another. One was too big. One was too narrow. The last one was just creepy, but it broke when she tried to sit on it.

She was tired, so she went upstairs to find a bed. There were three skeletons in the bedroom. The first bed was too hard. The second was too soft. But the last one was just right. She fell asleep.

That’s when the three black cats came home. Papa Bear stared at his porridge. “Someone took a bite of my porridge.” Mama Bear said, “Someone took a bite of my witch.” Baby Bear laughed. “Someone ate my porridge all up so now I get pancakes, right?”

Papa Spider decided they needed to check the other rooms for the intruder. They went into the living room first. Papa Bear checked his chair. “Someone sat in my chair.” Mama Bear repeated, “Someone sat in my chair.” Baby Bear said, “Someone broke my chair. Can I have a bean bag now?”

Papa dragged them up the stairs to the bedroom. When they walked in, they stared at the bed closest to the door. Papa Bear said, “Someone has been sleeping in my bed.” Mama Bear said, “Someone has been sleeping in my grave.” Baby Bear pointed. “Look, someone is sleeping in my bed right now! Can I keep her?”

Goldilocks woke up then. She saw the three ghosts and jumped out the nearest window. The scare taught her a lesson, and she never again went into a home without an invitation.

Reaping Me Softly by Kate Evangelista Blog Tour Stop

Reaping Me Softly
Kate Evangelista
Format: Paperback & eBook
ISBN: 978-1-62342-911-9

Ever since a near-death-experience on the operating table, seventeen-year-old Arianne Wilson can see dead people. Just as she’s learned to accept her new-found talents, she discovers that the boy she’s had a crush on since freshman year, Niko Clark, is a Reaper.

At last they have something in common, but that doesn’t mean life is getting any easier. All while facing merciless bullying from the most powerful girl in school, Arianne’s world is turned upside down after Niko accidentally reaps the soul of someone she loves. This sends them both into a spiral that threatens to end Arianne’s life. But will Niko break his own Reaper’s code to save her? And what would the consequences be if he did?

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 REAPING ME SOFTLY

First I have to say that I have read a few Reaper books this year and only one has come close to being EPIC in every way. reaping Me Softly grabbed me right from the first page and kept me intrigued all the way through. I found myself yelling at the book and trying to coach Ari and Niko like I knew what to do. Man it is such a refreshing read from what I have been reading that I did not want it to end. Then when I did a little more research I found out that the story did not end but will continue on and lord have mercy I was like a kid in the candy store getting free reign over everything.

Ari is your normal high school girl just trying to study and get out of school. Except that Ari is bullied by one of her classmates. All Ari wants is to be left alone but this bully is determined to take her down. To make matters worse Ari has a crush on a boy but she would never say anything to him for fear of being bullied more. She has had a crush on Niko since freshmen year and when an accident that almost kills her puts her and Niko together she is excited at first. The only draw back she has is that she can see dead people and if that is not the worst of it all she finds out her crush Niko is a reaper. At first she freaks out but then she accepts her gift and embarrasses them. Then Ari's world comes crashing down when Niko reaps the soul of her loved one by accident. What is Ari and Niko to do?

Will Ari get her loved one back? Will Niko and Ari be able to have a relationship? Niko is a reaper and Ari can see the dead persons soul you would think they would make an awesome team but as life is life you have to suck a lot of lemons to get lemonade. Will Ari and Niko defy all odds to be together? The ending left me screaming for more and I need book two like ASAP!

After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. A timeless tale of young romance.

Lorona Connelly is ready for a change from her carefully planned, bookish life. When sparks fly at a costume party, she embraces a chance for romance with the handsome Kestrin Feather. However, she quickly realizes that even love and destiny may not be enough to overcome the reality of an overprotective mother-in-law and Kestrin's long, tarnished history of relationships.

When Lorona's curiosity leads her to Kestrin's journal, doubt plagues them both with insecurities and threatens the relationship. Can true love overcome the odds, or was their whirlwind romance just a frivolous crush? Author Elise Stephens shares a journey of young love, fate, and wounded trust in the story of Lorona and Kestrin, a couple who must learn to overcome their fears to share a life together.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 MOONLIGHT AND ORANGES

First I would like to thank ATOMR for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour. I have to say that when I first saw the book cover and read the blurb I was excited to start reading it. Who doesn't like a good love story but this story is so much more. The added plus to reading this story is the fact that I love mythology and this story is a retelling of Cupid and Psyche. Oh man how I love their story.

This story is about love and what happens when you open your heart up and let someone in. Lorona is ready for change. She is tired of being a normal plain Jane. she is looking for something but she is not quite sure what she is looking for. That is until she goes to a party and meets Kestrin. Krestin is a womanizer and he has never felt love before but when he meets Lorona he knows that there is something very special about her. As their relationship goes through the ups and downs of a relationship the two of them will have to fight to stay together.

This story is a must read with all it's twists and turns. It is an exciting read full of so much you will not be disappointed!

Letting Go (Mitchell Family, #1) by Jennifer Foor Book Review and Interview

Savanna Tate has loved the same guy since she was 14yrs old. Now she and Tyler are in their second year of college. While Savanna is concentrating on maintaining her high grade point average and academic scholarship, Tyler is busy partying with his frat brothers and screwing around on his girlfriend behind her back.

In fear of losing her forever, Tyler steals a car and proceeds to follow her even after he had too much to drink. He loses control of the vehicle and from the injuries of the accident he goes into a coma.

Everyone blames Savanna for Ty's accident. She loses her friends. His family disowns her. She stops being around people and spends most of her time at the hospital waiting for Ty to wake up so that they can start over and have the future she always wanted.

Then his cousin Colt comes back to town to help with the Mitchell family's farm.

The chemistry between them is electric, but is Savanna willing to let go of Ty to explore her feelings for Colt?

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 LETTING GO

Where to start with this review is my issue. To say that I LOVE IT is an understatement. There was so much going on and so much pain, guilt and longing that I literally kept the box of tissues near me because I needed them. I first found out about this book on Facebook. I saw that a few people had read it and loved it and so curious for a new read I went on goodreads and read the blurb and I was hooked! I went on Amazon and bought the book for the Kindle and set out to read it. The problem was once I started to read it I did not want to do anything else so the hubby had to cook and clean because I checked out and started reading and did not finish until I was done.

I have to say I am so GLAD I read this book in one sitting because it left me thinking and reeling and needing more. How could so much emotion be in one book? Then as you know if you have kids life gets to you and I am finally able to write this review. Thank God I take notes but to be honest this story has not left my mind at all. I kept thinking how Ty was a lost and tormented soul. Ty is spoiled and has never ever had to work for anything a day in his life. Then Colt OMG Colt he is a hard worker and went to college and still came back to help out his family on the ranch. Savanna lord she really did live a sheltered life and she was always protected by someone. Whether or not it was her parents or Ty she never really experienced hatred or harassing until she decided she had had enough of Ty and his crap.

Letting Go is a story about love, loss and redemption. Van and Ty have been together forever. They have graduated high school and have gone off to college together. Only Ty shows his true colors and his behavior towards Van changes. As the year goes on Van decides she has had enough and she wants a break from Ty but when she breaks it off with Ty he decides he wants to have his cake and eat it to. As time goes on Van is miserable without Ty and decides she will give him another chance but when she goes to the party he is at she finds him in the act with another girl. Distraught she runs away from the party and he chases her. Drunk beyond reason Ty chases Van down and gets into a car accident. When he crashes the car he ends up in a comma.

Van feels horrible and responsible for the accident and stays with Ty will he is in a coma. Soon everyone hates Van and stays by Ty's side. Only Van knows the truth about her and Ty but she keeps quiet because she does not want to ruin Ty's reputation. Then Ty's cousin Colt comes to town to help the family out with the farm and that is when the truth comes out about Van and Ty. Van decides to trust Colt and tells him the truth about Ty and what he has done to her at school.

As time goes on Van starts to have feelings for Colt. But will she ever be able to get her life back? Will Ty wake up or will he stay in a coma? What will happen if everyone finds out the truth about Ty? Read this story because it is one roller coaster of a ride!

INTERVIEW WITH JENNIFER FOOR

Today I would like to welcome a special guest to A Diary Of A Book Addict. You guys know how I am always stalking Facebook for new authors and I stumbled upon Jennifer Foor who is the author of an EPIC book I read called Letting Go book one in The Mitchell Family Series. Jennifer thank you so much for stopping by and allowing your readers and fans to ask you some questions about Letting Go and the guys that are the stars of the rodeo. I have to say I laughed and cried and then I got angry and then I got pissed off at some of the things that were going on. When the ending came I cried like a bumbling fool and I so wanted more of Colton and Ty.

First let me say Thank You for reading! I am so glad that you liked it. Having people love something that you put your heart into is such a great feeling.

What inspired you to write Letting Go?
Aside from my obsession with hot southern men? I just got this idea in my head and went with it. I didn’t map out the story. I just wrote it as it came to me.

Are Ty and Colton inspired by someone in your life?
Probably more Ty, then Colt. Colt is the perfect guy, literally. Everything he does just screams SWOON. Ty is the guy that every girl goes for. He is bad and indecisive. Sometimes that combination is just addicting. Women always think they can change the bad boys.

Why did the town turn their back on Savanna?
Well, the story takes place in a small town and Ty was the high school football star. His family was well known and after his accident it was easy to put the blame on someone else. It is unfortunate but happens more often in real life than it should. It was important for Van’s character to have vulnerability. Because of where she was in her life, it was easy for Colt to step right in. She had no one else to turn to.

Why did Savanna stay by Ty when he had his accident?
Devotion. Hope. Guilt.

Why was Colton rude to Savanna when he went to the hospital the first day he arrived?
He had only heard Ty’s parent’s version of the story. It obviously didn’t last long…

Why did Ty act like an ass to Savanna when they got to college?
Like I explained earlier, Ty was the popular “star”. Everyone loved him and his popularity alone got him into trouble. Like a lot of young couples their priorities are what tore them apart, aside from his infidelity, of course. ;)

Why did Ty fight so hard for Savanna in the end?
To Ty, Savanna was always like a possession. I think even though he knew she was better off with Colt, he couldn’t let go of the idea that she would never be his. Change is hard.

Why did Ty lie about Colton?
He knew that Colt knew his secrets and also that if Savanna ever got to know him she would be crazy about him. He is pretty irresistible. He did it to keep them apart.

Why was Colton so guarded?
I think that is just his personality. He is older and more mature with his decisions. He considers the repercussions of his actions. Savanna was his weakness. He fought it at first, but succumbed to the connection they shared.

When did Colton realize he fell in love with Savanna?
I think he fell in lust first, but after time it became something he couldn’t deny. He fell fast but backed away to do the right thing.

Why did Colton hide his financial situation from Savanna?
It is kind of the same answer as him not telling her the truth about Ty. He wanted her to love him for who he was, not what he had. Money changed things. He didn’t want that in the equation.

How many books are going to be in this series?
At least Three.

When is the next one coming out and who is it about?
Mid October. This will be Ty and Miranda’s story. Book Three with be Colt and Savanna again.

Jen thank you so much for stopping by and sharing the Mitchell family with us. I sure do love those boys! They have everything I love about a southern boy and I can’t wait to read more about them.

Thank you!
Jennifer Foor is a YA and Contemporary Romance Author. She is married with two children and spends most days running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She enjoys reading (especially Indie Authors)watching shows from her DVR, and writing.
Ty and Miranda have always considered themselves cousins, due to the fact that they both share a common relative - Colt - even though they aren't really related at all.

After helping Miranda deliver her baby in the back seat of a car, Ty becomes closer to both she and her baby. Their long distance friendship keeps them platonic, even though in the past they both have
wondered if there was something more happening between them.

When something happens and Miranda is forced
to leave Kentucky and stay at Ty's parents farm, sparks start to fly.

Can bad boy Ty change his ways in order to be with the one person that knows him better than anyone?

Perchance by Lila Felix Blog Tour Stop

Remi Harris has a plan. Graduate high school, go to college, become a history teacher, be self-sufficient unlike her mother who is a struggling single mom. And the word ‘boy’ has no place in her plan.
Cooper Neal has been sent to his estranged father’s house to spend his Senior year getting to know him. And maybe, just maybe, there will be some cute girls in the small town.

Cooper sees Remi and he falls hard. Remi sees Cooper and wonders if she can do both. The question is; will he ruin her plans, or will she let him be a part of them?

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 REMI AND COOPER

First I have to say that this book is EPIC in every way! I have never sat down and read a book in four hours and wanted more no I actually needed more. I was like an addict needing my next high so much so I was shaking my Kindle thinking something was wrong. This story tore at my heart and had me reaching the tissues because never had I read where two people had had such hard lives reach deep down and allow themselves some "ME" time and allow themselves to open up and truly love.

Remi comes from a hard life. Her father walked out on the family years ago and all Remi's mother does is work which leaves Remi to raise her siblings. Remi's mother is what I call a man hater after being hurt by men she bashes them and lashes out. Remi listens to what her mother tells her about guys and stays away from them. She vows that she will not make the same mistake her mother made. No way she is going to go to school and get an education and then if there is room left for a man she will pursue him.

Then things start to fall apart for her mother and she and her siblings are separated to different members of the family. Remi is sent to live with her aunt Brenda who lives in Louisiana whom she has never met but Remi is a good girl and she tells her mother and aunt she can't wait to get there. Once Remi arrives there her world is turned upside down. She never expected to fall in love and make friends that would support her and stick by her through the most difficult part of life. Remi meets Cooper and he is a game changer for her and she is not so sure whether it is for good or bad.

Remi will have to decide if Cooper is good for her like her heart tells her or if he is bad for her like her mother has always told her.

Cooper is a quiet boy who has never ever given his mama any trouble but it is his senior year and she is working more and more so she wants Cooper to meet his father. Cooper has never been mean to his mother but when she suggests he stay with a father he does not remember he wants to be mean to her and yell and scream but Cooper decides he will take it out on the man that left him and his mother high and dry.

As Cooper travels on the plain to Louisiana he is thinking his senior year is going to suck because he will be the new kid on the block and won't have any friends.Cooper never in a million years thought he would find the love of his life and friends. But once he gets there and meets his father he realizes that just maybe he could be happy there. As he and his father establish a relationship Cooper meets the girl of his dreams and he is instantly taken by her. What he does not know is that the girl he met is anti boy and he will have to work for this relationship. It is not going to come naturally and it will not be a cake walk.

Cooper is ready for anything when it comes to Remi. He has never ever loved a girl before and he will do whatever it takes to get Remi and stay with Remi. Will Remi let her walls down long enough for Cooper to sneak in? Will she break through the lies her mother has told her about boys? This is a must read love story that will grip you right from the start and have you laughing and crying all on the same page! Lila Felix you are one of my Favorite 2012 authors and I need more!

INTERVIEW WITH LILA FELIX

Today I want to welcome one of 2012’s GREATEST authors Lila Felix. She is the author of Emerge and Perchance. Both books have rocked my reading world and left me wishing and praying that I can clone both boy main characters because LORD HAVE MERCY they are so swoon worthy! Today we are going to ask Lila some hard and heavy questions about her writing and the male characters she writes so well about.

How do you come up with these SWOON WORTHY guys in your books?

Every guy that I write about is a spin-off of a certain trait of my husband. Carlos was and is my husband in real life. Cooper was rock steady and giving like my husband. And Owen…whoops!! I almost gave the next boy away!!

Is Cooper written after someone close in your life?

He’s just a different version of my husband.

Why did the blonde trio try so hard to get Cooper to pay attention to them?

‘Cause Cooper is hawt!!! Plus, in a smaller town, I think they were just looking for fresh meat.

When did Cooper realize he loved Remi and would do anything for her?

I think he realized it the first time he saw her. He felt a connection immediately.

What made Cooper give Remi the space she needed?

Pure love. He knew she had things to handle and things to do and just hoped beyond hope that when she got done she would still love him.

When did Remi realize she loved Cooper and could not live without him?

When she was back in Texas and realized that these ‘priorities’ she had were all the products of bogus psychology. It was then she saw how dumb she had been. And yes, I’ve told her to her face that she was flat out dumb.

What inspired you to write Perchance and Emerge?

Emerge is my true story, with the names and places changed of course. And Perchance just came to me because of a song. Actually it was a compilation of a few songs.

Do you enjoy writing Happily Ever After stories?

I can’t imagine writing anything else. Every girl deserves a happy ending and I’m happy to give them some to read about until they find their own.

Did you always know you would become a writer?

Oh heck no. I never imagined I would ever be a writer. I refuse to say the ‘a’ word in referring to my writing. You know, that author word.

Do you have a favorite place to write?

It used to be my funky recliner. But now I sit at a desk like a big girl.

What is your next book about?

It’s about Nellie, who is a roller derby girl and Owen who is—Hey! I’m not giving it all away. You almost had me Tee!!

When will your next book be available? (I can’t wait, GOD I am so inpatient)

I’m trying so hard for a November 13th release. Trying!!!

Lila thank you so much for stopping buy and sharing your love and passion of reading and writing with us. Please keep writing more SWOON WORTHY men because I need them in my life!

You are very welcomeTee! I always have time for you!!

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 MONSTER HUNTER

First I have to give a HUGE Thank You to YA Bound for allowing me to be a part of this tour. This book was a refreshing read for me and a change from what I normally read. I enjoyed it so much I am buying a copy for my son to read. In Matt Archer: Monster Hunter we meet Matt and his family. Matt loves his normal boring life of hanging with his best friend and crushing on the school it girl. So when Matt's uncle tells him they are going on a camping trip he is very excited. That is until the camping trip takes a turn for the worse. Matt's uncle is attacked by a monster and Matt kills it with a knife in his uncles bag. Matt's life is about to take a turn in so many ways.

Once Matt's uncle realizes that Matt used the knife to kill the monster he realizes he has to tell Matt that the knife has chosen who will wield it. Once Matt's uncle tells him the history of the knife and the history of the family Matt is not sure what to believe but he knows one thing for sure and that is things do go bump in the night. Along with the help of Matt's best friend they will have to hunt down the monsters and kill them. Will Matt and his friend be able to kill all the evil monsters or will the monsters kill them?

I am so looking forward to reading book two in this series so we can see what happens to Matt and his best friend Will. This is a must read for all kids who love things that go bump in the night.

SWEET BABY JESUS AND HADES WENDY HIGGINS HAS GOTTEN A DEAL TO FINISH THE TRILOGY OF SWEET EVIL. HERE IS THE SECOND BOOK SWEET PERIL DUE OUT APRIL 30, 2013
Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a claim. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

The Tragedy of Knowledge (The Resistance Trilogy, #3) by Rachael Wade Blog Tour Stop

The Battle Comes Home.

After arranging a hopeful but risky alliance during their visit to the Amaranthian realm, Camille, Gavin, and the resistance don’t have much time to recover from their failed mission. Forced to create a new strategy to achieve their goal, they embark on a different mission—one that possibly holds the missing key to their quest for victory, and their deadliest one yet.

As they attempt round two to restore peace and freedom for their kind, they must rely on help from the living, the bayous, and beyond to decipher allies from enemies, good magic from bad, and whether the source claiming to lead the way to their destiny can be trusted. Racing against the clock to solve the mystery of their fate, they find the battle has come right to their doorstep, and this time, everyone must pay a price.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 CAM AND GAVIN

The Tragedy of Knowledge is the EPIC ending to the greatest series I have ever read. It is so full of action and suspense that it had me on the edge of my seat. Gavin and Cam are trying to restore peace and order to the Amaranthians. Gavin is leading the team in Amaranth and he has his hands full. They lost the first round but they are determined to win this round. As Gavin starts to set up for the final war he and Cam will have the fight of a lifetime. With the hybrid vampires on the loose no one knows exactly how to defeat them the only thing they do know is that they must be defeated.

With Cam getting these strange dreams she is not sure what they mean but she knows she better figure them out soon in order to save Amaranth from the evil that plagues it. Will they be able to take Gerard down? What will happen to Cam and Gavin? Will they have their happily ever after or will they be torn apart and lose each other? this is an Epic ending to the the trilogy and if you have not read Amaranth or The Gates you have to read both those books first to get the ending. The author did a great job taking us each step of the way and finding out all the secrets and lies of Amaranth and the others that lived there.

I am so sad to see this series end but I loved it! I loved growing with Gavin and Cam and I loved experiencing everything they did and reading how they grew together. This is a must read series for all paranormal lovers!

***SPOILER ALERT: This excerpt includes spoilers from The Gates, book 2 of the series. If you haven’t read book 2 yet, you can pick it up here.***

“All right. Look,” he said. “I’m going to come at you again from the same angle—when you’re not expecting it—and I want you to deflect my strike this time. All it takes is one stab of this silver, and you’re instantly slowed down, do you understand? It can mean the difference between living and dying. One strike will make it easier for your attacker to land another strike, and then another. Each one making you weaker. Which means seconds until you’re completely incapacitated. Then they can do whatever the hell they want to you. Think of it as paralyzing venom.”

“Gavin. I got it. We’ve been over this.” I pulled my hair tighter in the ponytail and wrapped it with an elastic tie, positioning myself in front of him again, knees bent, arms up, stance ready.

“Then get it together. I need you focused.”

“Did I mention I really don’t like your bossy side?”

“Did I mention I really hate that you don’t do as you’re told?”

He met my stance with an amused grin, rubbing his hands over his shoulders to push up his sleeves. My gaze caught the movement, zoning in on his defined arms. I swallowed, and managed, “Do as I’m told?”

“Uh huh.” He shuffled closer with slow, easy steps. “Out here, I’m not your husband. I’m not your lover. I’m your trainer. It’s my responsibility to show you how to defend yourself. And it’s your job to listen.”

“I am listening. You just make it difficult … to stay focused.”

“Oh, yeah?” He reached out and brushed a strand of hair from my forehead, letting his fingers trail slowly over my skin while he peered down at me, licking his lips. “Why do I make it difficult for you to stay focused, love? Are you having a hard time keeping up?” Pushing the hair back behind my ear, he leaned in farther, grazing his nose against my cheek, smirking when he heard me exhale a low, shaky breath.

Damn him. “You know why.”

“Do I?” His grin widened.

“You do. And I won’t give you the satisfaction of hearing it come out of my mouth.”

“Cam,” he dragged his lips across my cheekbone to the base of my ear, “I can feel it, too. You don’t have to say it, because I’m in tune with your body like never before. We’re on the same level now. All that pent-up energy, trying to claw its way out of you …” Nipping my earlobe, he let out a low chuckle and skimmed his hand underneath the hem of my shirt, tracing the waistband of my jeans with rough, teasing fingers. My entire body came alive at his touch, blood singing, knees quaking, mouth watering. His scent was divine and his lips called to me like some wicked, elemental magic.

He knew exactly what he was doing. The bastard.

More than willing to play along, I inhaled a sharp breath and reciprocated, dragging my fingers down his torso, then back up, stopping just above his navel. His mouth still near the base of my ear, his breath hitched against my skin at the contact. Encouraged, I headed south again, rubbing and teasing, feeling him grow beneath my fingers, tilting my head to the side to expose my neck. He moaned and grazed his teeth over my shoulder and down to my collarbone, dropping his blade to the ground with a loud thud.

“You make me crazy. Do you know that?” He gripped my hips and pressed me against him. “Do you feel what you do to me?”

“It’s too intense,” I whispered, my voice breathy. I was already panting when he moved to the other side of my neck, nudging my head to tilt it in the opposite direction.

“I warned you. You had a taste back in Amaranth, right after you changed.” He started on the buttons of my shirt.

“But the pull is even harder to fight now. When you touch me … I have no self-restraint. Sometimes I feel like … like I can’t handle all the extra energy. Like I’ll detonate if I don’t act.”

“That’s part of the fun.”

“Gav … we’re in an open field.”

“Hasn’t stopped you yet.” He popped two more buttons. “I know you want me. Just relax and let me make you feel good, baby. That panic lessens when you give it an outlet.”

Shutting my eyes tight, I leaned up on tiptoe and wrapped my arms around his neck to kiss him hard, then released him and slowly sashayed in the other direction, challenging him from underneath coy lashes, the need to run singing in my veins. “Fine. And I know you want me, but you’ll have to catch me first.”

His mouth fell open and his brows raised, a surprised smile pulling at the corner of his lips; he was ready to take the bait. I surged forward into a turbo-charged sprint, clear across the field toward the woods ahead, feeling him feet behind me, fast on my trail. I blew through the edge of the brush and into the thick marsh, lifting off my feet into flight, deeper and deeper into the bayou.

Awaken (Patronus #1) and Avenge (Patronus #2) by Sarah M. Ross Blog Tour Stop

Lucy Donovan was supposed to have a weekend of fun in the sun, celebrating her upcoming graduation from college. In a split second, everything changed. A drunk driver ended Lucy’s mortal life.

Lucy opens her eyes to a world she never imagined possible and a new destiny: as a Patronus, a guardian of spirits. Adjusting to her new role and abilities while negotiating this confusing realm will test her limits and push her further than she ever dreamed she would go. From wayward spirits who don’t want her help to soul stealing vampires, and even a stuck-up British royal, Lucy must brave them all to save one spirit she can’t bear to lose.

Further complicating her life is an inexplicable yet growing connection she feels to a member of her team, Max, whose mysterious behavior leaves her both confused and intrigued.

Waking up dead was just the beginning of her problems. Lucy’s death is about to become the greatest adventure of her life.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 AWAKEN

Awaken is one of those books that quietly sneaks up on you and you have no idea what has happened. I want to give a HUGE thank you to AToMR Blog Tours for touring this book and allowing me to be a part of it. If not for them I would have never heard of this book and that is such a tragedy because this book is a MUST READ for the Paranormal Genre.

In Awaken we meet Lucy Donovan. She is in her senior year of college and is excited to be graduating and moving on in the real world. That is until she is killed by a drunk driver. When she awakes she is in a different place and is not sure how or why she is there. She soon learns that she is about to embark on a new life as a Patronus which is a Guardian of Spirits. She will have to deal with crazy ghosts, uncontrollable spirits, angels, and vampires.

Man what is a girl to do with this new life. She did not ask for it but was rather born with it and she needs a lot of guidance and direction. With her team by her side she is able to learn what she needs to to help these spirits along. To add to her growing dose of crazy she has a team mate Max and he is just the perfect set of everything. She soon finds herself having feelings for him. But what is a girl to do when she has so much responsibility on her shoulders. Will she be able to fill her new role? Will she be a good Patronus? What will happen between her and Max?

Come along for the greatest paranormal ride of your life! Ms Ross draws you in and keeps you there to very end!
Six months ago, Lucy Donovan thought that being killed by a drunk driver was the worst thing that could happen to her.

She was wrong.

Now, the person she loves most has been ripped away from her, soul held hostage, and Lucy has vowed to stop at nothing to get it back.

Part of a new team with enhanced powers, Lucy and her friends begin a quest to avenge the souls that have been stolen. Enemies of the Patronus have united however, and a spy from within the Patronus realm is feeding the enemy their every move.

When a mission goes horribly wrong, Lucy’s soul becomes compromised. It will take a strength she didn’t know was within her to escape the darkness, return to the light and avenge the soul she loves.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 AVENGE

In Avenge we pick up right where Awaken left off. Lucy Donovan is getting used to her new life and her new friends. She is still fighting the good fight against the evil werewolves and vampires. She has her team by her side and she has Max who is there helping her every step of the way. But she is still on her mission to find the one soul she loves and wants to see again. She will stop at nothing to get to see this soul and make sure the person is okay.

What she encounters while she and the team are looking for this soul is more mayhem. It seems at every turn she has to fight to get to what she wants. But in the end she knows the fight is worth it if she can get the reward she seeks. As they go on their mission to avenge the souls that were stolen Lucy will hit a snag in the road. Someone within their tight nit group will betray them and put Lucy's soul at risk. What will Lucy do about the betrayal? Will she be able to get back to her team in tact? What will happen between her and Max? Will she find that lost soul she is looking for?

In Avenge you will get all these answers and more. You will learn the background and history of the Patronus people. Plus you will get to see Lucy fight her way back to where she was before her soul was compromised. This is a great series and I recommend it to all paranormal readers.

I started my obsession with reading at an early age, getting in trouble for sneaking BabySitter Club and Nancy Drew books into math class in elementary school. I would read any fiction book I could get my hands on. I knew it was an addiction when instead of grounding me from TV or music, my mom would take away my books as punishment (The Horror!). My love of all things paranormal was inspired by my good friend Laurie, who convinced me that books with vampires, witches, and all things shifter were amazing. After a little reluctance, I gave it a shot with the Sookie Stackhouse books, realized she was right, and the rest was history.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with my degree in English, and taught 8th graders to love reading as much as I do for several years. I will always be a proud member of the Steelers Nation, but I couldn’t take the cold and moved my frozen tush to Florida where I now live with my family and two cats. You will find me now with my trusty Kindle in hand and toes in the sand!

When I'm not writing or reading, I am probably partaking in my favorite vice: sunbathing. I know it's wrong, but I love the feeling on the hot sun on my skin and could lay in it for hours. I do live in Florida for a reason!

I also enjoy traveling, baking, movies, and playing with my adorable fur babies.

*** Book Promo ***Frozen by Mary Casanova

Sixteen-year-old Sadie Rose hasn’t said a word in eleven years—ever since the day she was found lying in a snowbank during a howling storm. Like her voice, her memories of her mother and what happened that night were frozen.

Set during the roaring 1920s in the beautiful, wild area on Rainy Lake where Minnesota meets Canada, Frozen tells the remarkable story of Sadie Rose, whose mother died under strange circumstances the same night that Sadie Rose was found, unable to speak, in a snowbank. Sadie Rose doesn’t know her last name and has only fleeting memories of her mother—and the conflicting knowledge that her mother had worked in a brothel. Taken in as a foster child by a corrupt senator, Sadie Rose spends every summer along the shores of Rainy Lake, where her silence is both a prison and a sanctuary.

One day, Sadie Rose stumbles on a half dozen faded, scandalous photographs—pictures, she realizes, of her mother. They release a flood of puzzling memories, and these wisps of the past send her at last into the heart of her own life’s great mystery: who was her mother, and how did she die? Why did her mother work in a brothel—did she have a choice? What really happened that night when a five-year-old girl was found shivering in a snowbank, her voice and identity abruptly shattered?

Sadie Rose’s search for her personal truth is laid against a swirling historical drama—a time of prohibition and women winning the right to vote, political corruption, and a fevered fight over the area’s wilderness between a charismatic, unyielding, powerful industrialist and a quiet man battling to save the wide, wild forests and waters of northernmost Minnesota. Frozen is a suspenseful, moving testimonial to the haves and the have-nots, to the power of family and memory, and to the extraordinary strength of a young woman who has lost her voice in nearly every way—but is utterly determined to find it again.

Mary Casanova is an award-winning children's author of novels and picture books. Many of her books stem from her life on the Minnesota-Canadian border; yet some of her stories have taken her as far away as France, Norway, and Belize for research. Whatever the setting for her books, Casanova writes stories that matter--and stories that kids can't put down.

Her book awards include: American Library Association "Notable," Aesop Accolades by the American Folklore Society, Parents' Choice "Gold" Award, Booklist Editor Choice, and two Minnesota Book Awards. Her books frequently land on state children's choice book master lists across the country. "The greatest reward for me," Casanova states, "is when a young reader tells me she or he loves one of my books. For me, it's all about communicating writer-to-reader through a character and story."

Casanova grew up in a family of ten children in St. Paul, Minnesota. In a bustling camp-like atmosphere, Casanova found that writing became her voice. "Words are my paintbrush," she explains, "my way of exploring the world around me."

Now, with 19 books published and many more under contract and forthcoming, she divides her time between writing and traveling. Nationally and internationally, at schools and conferences, Casanova shares her love of writing and reading with children and adults.

Her newest novel, The Klipfish Code, makes use of Mary's on-site research in Norway. The story explores an important facet of Norwegian history through the experiences of Marit, a 12-year-old Norwegian girl who finds a way to fight against the 5-year Nazi occupation of Norway. Marit and her brother Lars are separated from their parents (who are working for the Resistance) and sent to live on an island with their gruff grandfather and school teacher aunt. During the course of the story, Marit's aunt is one of the Norwegian school teachers that gets sent to a concentration camp for refusing to integrate Nazi propaganda into her classroom. With potential danger waiting every turn, Marit finds a way to help the Resistance and eventually reunite her family.

Mary's series, Dog Watch (Simon and Schuster) is based on her northern Minnesota village where dogs are allowed to roam free—as long as they don't get in trouble. If they get in trouble, they earn a sticker on their page at the village clerk's office; too many stickers and a trouble-making dog must remain at home. "I never know where the next story will come from. It’s a delight when the stories come right from this corner of the world I call home." She makes her home in a 100-year old house on Rainy Lake with her husband, Charles, and their three "above average" dogs and spends free time with their horses, Jay and Midnight.
