My Review

5 of 5 Josiah & Mateo & Tristan

Broken Pieces is an amazing story of love, loss and redemption. My heart hurt while reading this story of finding your soul mate your one true love only to realize there is another that you need and want in your life. Can you imagine having two soul mates?

For Josiah he is broken because he has lost his parents and is in a foster home. He lives his life with his head down and keeping to himself. He knows he is different in every way but he also knows that he is gay living in a foster home where he has to pretend to be something he is not. But Josiah loves his foster family and will not do anything to lose them. So he keeps things to himself until Mateo Sanchez walks into his life.

Mateo has had a rough life and with his father in prison and mother dead he is placed in foster care till he is 18 years old. When he gets to this foster home he is not sure what to do because there is another boy here and he is quiet and looks like he is afraid of Mateo. But as time goes on and Teo and Josiah get closer Josiah tells Teo he loves him and wants to be with him. Josiah has never felt secure and safe since he came into the foster care system but when he is with Teo he feels loved and safe and secure and never wants to leave Teo.

As Teo's 18 birthday approaches he knows that he and Josiah will be separated and he has never felt so alone. He knows he must do everything he can to be with Josiah and to make a way to see him. But things go from good to bad in a nano second and the decisions that Teo makes will tear Teo and Josiah away from one another. When Josiah comes home to Teo gone he is devastated and decides to leave his secure foster family to look for Teo.

For days Josiah lives on the street till Teo finds him and vows to keep Josiah safe. They live a good life for them and Teo protects and takes care of Josiah until his past comes to haunt them and Teo will have to decide between his family of his heart. He decides he has to let Josiah have a good life free of crimes and drugs so he lets Josiah go.

Josiah is heart broken and can't understand what he did wrong to Teo to make him leave him. He doesn't feel like living but then decides that teo loves him and just needed to keep him safe so he sent him away and he will be back as soon as he can. But as time goes on and Teo doesn't come back for Josiah Josiah realizes he needs to move on and do something with his life like he promised Teo.

That is when he meets Tristan. Tristan watches Josiah every morning feeding the birds and soon one conversation turns into another and when Tristan finds out Josiah is homeless he offers him a place to stay and Josiah agrees with one condition that Tristan accept money from him for staying there. Tristan agrees under one condition that Josiah go to school and graduate from college. Josiah agrees and as time goes on Josiah finishes school and falls in love with Tristan. Josiah is confused because he loves Tristan but his heart still belongs to Teo.

Then one day Josiah is on the beach feeding the birds just like Teo promised they would do together when he spots Teo and Josiah's world comes crashing down. At first Josiah isn't sure he is seeing Teo but as they get closer and embrace everything comes rushing back and Josiah can't get enough of Teo. Only when reality comes crashing down Josiah lets lose and tells Teo what he did to him and how he crushed him and he wants answers. Plus Josiah is confused because he is with Tristan now and he has built a life with him and he does not want to let him go.

Josiah is confused at what to do and Teo is determined to get Josiah back and he knows he will have to work twice as hard because of Tristan. But the unexpected happens and Teo and Tristan fall for one another. Teo isn't sure that the three can work together but soon Tristan is asking Teo to stay and wondering if the three of them can work things out because neither man wants to lose Josiah.

Will this work out or will it be disastrous......

My Review

5 of 5 Collide Noah & Cooper

Can you imagine for one second you have a best friend that you did everything with and shared everything with only to be torn from him because of your family. Your mother and father are constantly fighting because your mother doesn't act like a mother so your father thinks by controlling every aspect of your lives he can control your mother and in the mean time you lose the one person who ever meant anything to you.

That is what life is like for Noah Jameson. He moves to Black Creek when he is ten and lives there for three years. He sees a football game going on outside and decides he will play to when he and another boy both go for the ball and collide. This is the beginning for Noah and Cooper Bradshaw.

For the next three years they are inseparable and do everything together until one night in the middle of the night Noah's father moves them away. Noah is not sure why his father is doing this but they move away and he does not see his best friend Cooper again for 17 years. Noah thinks about Cooper all this time wondering what he has done with his life and whether or not he is married with children or if he is even still living in Black Creek. Soon Noah will find out because he catches his boyfriend in bed with another man and he leaves to move back to Black creek to get a fresh start.

When Noah enters Black Creek it is like nothing has changed except a few chain stores have come to town. Then he sees Cooper for the very first time in 17 years and his breath is taken away because not only is Cooper still here in Black Creek but he is gorgeous and Noah can't help but look at him with new eyes. When Cooper sees Noah after 17 years being apart he is excited and mad all in one because he wants to know what the hell happened all those years ago.

As the two get reacquainted with one another Cooper offers Noah a place to stay. The two catch up on things and Noah gets to see old friends he hadn't seen before. As Coop and Noah get closer again Coop finds himself having feelings for Noah but that can't be because Noah is gay and Coop has never been with a man before nor has he ever had a desire to be with a man so what is this all about. But Coop can't deny what he feels for Noah and when Noah goes on a date Coop gets pissed and reveals his true feelings for his friend.

What will happen when Coop tells Noah how he really feels? Will Noah open up to him or shut him down? Will the two become more than just friends?

Interview With Riley Hart:

Today I like to welcome Riley Hart Author of Broken Pieces to A Diary Of A Book Addict. I have to say I am so fan girling because I love all of Riley’s books. She is also the author of Collide (Black Creek # 1). Riley thank you for stopping by and spending time with us. I have to say that I am fairly new to the M/M genre and what I have read so far has me in love! I mean I just can’t get enough. So much so I was trolling amazon when I came upon your book cover for Collide and I said OMG I have to read this book what is it about. So I bought it and read it in one night and I just could not get enough of Noah & Cooper. Then I saw your new book Broken Pieces and I fell in love with three incredible men Josiah, Mateo, & Tristan.

1. What inspired you to write M/M stories?

I’m a huge romance fanatic so I always knew I would write romance and equality is something I’m extremely passionate about. I wanted to share love stories and gay romance really calls to me.

2. How do you write those love scenes? (because holy hades I need a glass of ice cubes after reading them)

LOL! I’m not sure. It just comes naturally. I try to write what feels right, and hope that I’m doing a good job at it!

3. In Collide Noah and Cooper were friends when did the feelings from friendship change for them?

I think they are soul mates ( I worry using that word because I know it sounds silly). But I do believe they were probably always in love with each other, they just didn’t know it. Maybe when they were younger they weren’t but there was always a special connection and they were always meant to be in each other’s lives.

4. How hard was it for Noah to come home to Black Creek?

He worried a little. It’s hard to go home again but it was the only place he’s ever felt at home so I think it called to him too. He knew he belonged there.

5. How did Noah keep his feelings a secret for so long?

I don’t think he realized he had always been in love with Cooper until he saw him again. He felt the connection but it took being older to really see what it was.

6. When did Cooper realize that he loved Noah and could not live without him?

He realized it the first night they had sex. Like Noah he knew there was something powerful there but that night, when he was willing to change his life for Noah, he knew that was something huge.

7. What inspired you to write Broken Pieces over a span of ten years?

I think that’s the only way the story could have been told. There was a lot of growth that needed to happen and for the three men’s story to be realistic, I think the time was needed.

8. When did Josiah realize he loved Mateo?

It was fairly soon into their relationship. He saw something in Teo no one else would ever take the time to see.

9. When did Mateo realize he loved Josiah?

He really realized it the night Josiah told him he loved him but even before that, Josiah made him feel like something when he never had. That meant the world to Teo.

10. What was going through Mateo’s mind when he was first separated from Josiah?

Pain. It killed him. And guilt, fear. Did he do the right thing? He believed he did. If there is one thing about Teo it’s that he will always put what Josiah needs first. As long as Josiah is happy and safe then he has done something worthy in his life.

11. What made Tristan want to talk to Josiah?

Josiah intrigued him. He was this young, lonely guy by the water. And at first, horniness probably had something to do with it. LOL. But one conversation with Josiah and he knew that Josiah needed more than just that.

12. How hard was it to for Tristan to hide his true feelings for Josiah?

I’m not sure that it was hard because hiding is what came naturally for Tristan. He felt safer that way.

13. What went through Tristan’s mind when he found out Mateo had come back for Josiah?

A lot of the same things Teo thought when they were separated. It hurt, he was scared of losing Josiah but also felt guilty because he knew that Teo could give Josiah something he couldn’t at that time. Open and honest love. It was there but he couldn’t give it as freely as Teo could.

14. When did Mateo finally realize it was okay to have feelings for Tristan?

Teo is so hard on the outside but on the inside, he needs love. He doesn’t give love easily and when he does, like with Josiah, it’s for life. There was a connection between Mateo and Tristan before they met. Josiah. They both loved him in a way they’d never loved anyone else.

He made both of them feel when they never had before. Love isn’t something that comes easily for either of them so having a part of Josiah’s heart tied them together long before they met.

And that tie helped when they did meet. They both saw someone else who would do anything for Josiah. They saw someone else who was broken and healed by him.

It was just a natural progression for them to fall for each other too. Josiah bonded them but they also see something in each other. They both carry guilt they shouldn’t and they’re both noble, maybe not in the traditional sense but I think they are.

So it wasn’t something that he realized it was okay…it was just something that WAS.

15. When will we get more of Mateo, Tristan & Josiah the glue that holds them together?

I don’t have an exact date yet but it will be sometime this year!

Riley thank you for stopping by and sharing your gorgeous boys with us. I can’t wait for Wes and Bradens story!

Thanks for having me!
