Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.
In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.
Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.
My Review
5 of 5 Walking Disaster
Walking Disaster is the book to read for 2013! Thank you Atria for allowing me to receive an early ARC and allowing me to be on the tour. Lord when I first read Beautiful Disaster I could not wrap my head around that book because I could relate to it. I could relate to the love hate relationship and letting someone get close to you when you have been hurt. I loved how Abby went between loving Travis and hating him but she could not deny the fact that Travis was her soul mate. He was her everything no matter what.
So when it was announced that Travis would be having his say I was so excited because I needed to know what he was feeling and what he was thinking when he said and did the things he did and getting in the mind of a very private guy. Travis loved hard and fought harder but when he met Abby she changed something in him and he was not sure what it was but it was something.
Then as Travis got to know Abby he wanted her and wanted her in a way that was not normal for him. His emotions were all over the place but at the end of the day Travis knew he loved Abby and that he could not live without her. So he did whatever he had to do to get Abby and keep her. When they became a couple Travis let his feelings show and he told Abby how he felt and that he could not live without her.
I know that a lot of people did not like this story and some even said it was promoting abuse in relationships and that is just not true. This story is a story about two people trying to find themselves after having suffered such tragedies and from people close to them. Travis and Abby are both hurting and keeping walls up but when they let them down what they have is something real. Real relationships are like this I should know I have been with the same guy for 20 years and he is exactly like Travis.
