L.B. Simmons Mending Heart Series Blog Tour Stop

I had the perfect life.

Beautiful and loving husband.Three gorgeous little girls.

Successful career.

The only thing missing was the white picket fence. I really wanted that fence.

Three years ago, I lost that life. I lost my husband. And I lost myself. But, eventually, I found my way through the darkness. I’ve made peace with my new life. I have my girls, and that’s all that matters. They are my world. I have no illusions of ever falling in love again or getting whisked away on a white horse.

But then he came back into my life. On a freakin’ motorcycle.

There’s no way I’ll let him turn my life completely upside down.Absolutely no way.

The question is…

How long can I keep pretending that I’m happy with my life being right-side up?

My Review

5 of 5 Running Empty

Running on Empty is an AMAZING read! I have not read a book like this is a long time. When you live in the world of YA like I do you tend not to read outside the box but I am so glad I did. I as a mother of three and raising them on my own can relate to this story on so many levels.

Alex is happily married and has three daughters when her husband dies. She is left devastated beyond belief and has no idea what she is going to do and how she is going to survive this. But like all mothers Alex picks herself up and locks down those emotions and lives each day for her children and nothing else. Forgetting how to live and not wanting to get hurt again she distances herself from everyone. That is until the day her best friend Blake comes riding into town with his fat boy Harley bike and those kick ass boots with the buckles!

Blake still remembers Alex and the friendship they shared growing up. Blake has also loved Alex from a far. Now Blake is determined to break down Alex's walls and have her for himself. He wants to take care of her and the girls and he will not take no for an answer. God Blake is a God send but will Alex let her walls down? Will Blake be able to shower her with enough love to make her his? This is a must read book!

I have the perfect life.

I’ve finally found my happy ending.

I fought through the loss of one husband, lucky enough to be given a second chance at a lifetime of happiness. Settling into our new lives, however, may not be as easy as it seems.

What really happens after the fairytale ending? What happens after the prince rescues the princess? After he sweeps her off her feet and carries her off into the sunset? Do they truly live happily ever after?

Well…

This is our story.

My Review

5 of 5 Recovery

Oh Lord L.B. Simmons is so dam BRILLIANT it hurts my heart! Dam In Running On Empty we got to meet Alex and Blake and watch their friendship blossom into love and in Recovery we get to see them get married! Holy Hades it was an up hill battle for Blake but he did it he got Alex to see that she can love again. But and yes there is a big but because every story has it's ups and down and yes by God so do Alex and Blake.

In Recovery we get to see Alex and Blake grow together and we get to see Alex struggle with letting Blake do things for her and the girls. It is rough to give up control when you have had to do everything by yourself with no help. But Alex and Blake will grow together and have to give up control and learn to do things together.

Blake is still my ideal man and more than ever after reading Recovery. What women would not want a GREAT guy like Blake. He is everything a REAL man should be. He is loving, caring, and sweet and just plain out the awesome sauce of men.

This is a must read series so if you have not read it yet what are you waiting for because this is a BRILLIANT series!

I LOVE THESE REVIEWS! Thank you so much for taking the time to not only read them, but to LOVE them. I loved writing them so much, and it makes my heart so happy when I read that someone loves Alex and Blake as much as I do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! :)
