OFF COURSE SCENE #1
"You remember me?" she asks in awe.
Stepping up close to her again, I grab her chin between my thumb and forefinger so her gaze stays locked on me. I swear a feel a sizzle of electricity from the contact of my skin on hers. "That I do. Five years ago, I kissed a girl that was fresh, and young, and innocent... and so not ready for the likes of me." Releasing her chin, I rake my eyes down her body and slowly move them up again. I like what I see...a lot, and I take pleasure in the fact that her breath hitches just a little under my perusal. "You're all grown up, Renner. I'm bettin' you could handle me now."
She lets out a shaky breath, and there it is... her eyes go dark. The knowledge that my words alone do that to her thrills me beyond measure. I can't wait to see what type of response my tongue can get.
"Now, let's go get that drink and we can see just how well can you handle me."
The blinding smile I expect to get from her doesn't come. Instead, her eyes lighten back up and there's now a scowl on her forehead.
Putting her hands on my chest, she pushes me back away from her. "In your dreams, O'Bradaigh," she sneers. "I may have been stupid enough to fall for your sexy lines before, but you're right... I am all grown up now and I have better things to do than waste my time with an arrogant musician."
I stare at her for just a moment, stunned she's turning me down. Then I throw my head back laughing. She glares at me and crosses her arms across her chest. She clearly doesn't get my amusement but I am indeed amused with her. If she wants to play hard to get, I have time to play.
Reaching out, I wrap my hand around her throat, skimming my thumb softly along her jaw. "My cailín álainn has some claws. I'm going to enjoy them when they’re sunk deep into my back while I'm riding you."
"Aaaagghhh," she screams in frustration, at the same time knocking my hand away. I take a step back for good measure, just in case she decides to let a fist or foot fly my way. "You are a conceited, egotistical, jackass and the only place my claws will be sunk will be in your balls if you try to touch me again."
I give her a well-calculated smirk. "Now that thought just turns me on, Renner. You have a gift for words."
In all actuality, it doesn't turn me on... thinking about her ripping my balls to shreds, but I'm having far too much fun teasing her.
Now... that lovely high and angry blush she's wearing? Yes, that's turning me on. I wonder if her cheeks will get that red when she comes. I bet she blushes all the way down to her breasts.
AUTHOR’S TAKE ON CILLIAN O’BRADAIGH
By Sawyer Bennett
Cillian O’Bradaigh is a native Dubliner and front man for the Irish rock band, Over The Edge. They’ve found huge success in the European Union, topping the Irish charts and gaining some popularity in the States. Cillian is what us Americans call Black Irish...noted for his dark hair and eyes. He’s tall, tattooed and pierced. Oh, and he’s totally an Alpha male.
Terrible things have happened to Cillian in his past, causing him an almost painful need to be in control of all situations. Couple that with his Alpha tendencies, and you have a sexy rocker who, if he wants you, is more likely to throw you over his shoulder and walk out the door without a word.
Despite all of that, Cillian has a soft nature when it comes to women. He doesn’t like to see them in pain and he’ll go to great lengths to help those he cares about.
If his sexy Irish brogue and rock-star vibe doesn’t do you in, just wait until you see what he can do in the bedroom...and the back storeroom of a pub...and the kitchen...
OFF COURSE SCENE #3
I glance at my watch for like the tenth time in the last five minutes and impatiently tap my foot. Where are they? They should have been here over half an hour ago.
"Dude... stop looking at your watch. They'll be here."
I shoot a fuck-off look to Sean, and he just grins back at me. We got to O'Shea's a bit early to get a good table. We managed to snag a tall one that is designed to stand around and it's pretty close to the stage. Cady, Renner, and Teagan said they would meet us here, and glancing at my watch again, I note they are now thirty-seven minutes late.
I'm thankful that my "disguise" is working tonight. I have a baseball cap covering my hair and I shaved before I came out, which makes me look about five years younger. Adding on my glasses, I don't think I'm too recognizable and only a few people have come up to talk to me or ask for an autograph.
Sean is another matter. No disguise can hide that he is Sean Lundie, drummer for OTE. I can only assume no one comes up to him because he looks scary as shit.
"Holy. Fuck," Sean says with awe.
I look at him briefly, and see his gaze is on the door. I turn around, and holy fuck is right. Teagan just walked in and she's wearing a black leather bustier with mounds of boobs spilling over the top, black satin pants that I'm pretty sure were painted on her, and heels that have to be at least five inches tall. She has her hair pulled back severely in a bun and her lips are painted bright red. Every man in the pub turns to watch her walk our way.
My eyes flick over her briefly and I see Cady right behind her. She looks pretty in a blood red dress that's probably hugging her a little too tight for my approval, but then, Cady's like a little sister and I don't like to think about her flaunting her stuff. My eyes search, and they land on Renner, bringing up the rear.
HOLY! FUCK! She looks gorgeous, and I know I won't spare another glance at Teagan in her dominatrix outfit for the rest of the night.
Her hair is flowing down her back with locks of it resting over her shoulders. It's so shiny, that it glimmers in the dim lighting. She's wearing a black miniskirt that doesn't ride too high but is hugging her ass like a second skin. She has on a silver halter-top that is cut low and looks like it's tied around her neck with dental floss. Her feet are encased in silver sandals that are sporting a heel as high as Teagan's.
I seriously don't think I've seen anyone as hot as she looks right now. Visions of me hiking that skirt up to see what lies underneath flood my brain. I'm betting black lace, and I know it would look amazing against that creamy skin.
Teagan reaches us first and blows me a kiss. Then she squeals when she sees Sean and rushes right by me to give him a hug. I often wondered if those two had ever hooked up in the past, but I never asked. None of my business really.
Bending over, I give Cady a quick hug, looking over her shoulder at Renner. She holds my glance, even as I slowly slide my eyes down her body and back up again. By the time I make it back to her face, her cheeks are flushed.
I release Cady and step toward Renner, intent on giving her what would look like a friendly hug to the rest of the group. She's surprised when I wrap my arms around her, in a brotherly fashion, because I know Cady's probably watching. I may not be able to cop much of a feel right now, but I use the opportunity to lean in close to her ear. "God help me, Ren. You look like a goddess."
AUTHOR’S TAKE ON RENNER CALDWELL
By Sawyer Bennett
Renner Caldwell is an American beauty hiding out in Dublin due to something that has shamed her terribly. She keeps her red-head down and her green eyes cast to the floor, trying to stay out of notice. But unfortunately, she’s caught the eye of rocker bad boy, Cillian O’Bradaigh and nothing she does will put him off.
Renner is an interesting character because she has the classic dream of marrying a stable man and having a house in the ‘burbs. She has an ideal, and Cillian O’Bradaigh doesn’t measure up in her mind. Yet she can’t fight the insane attraction she has to him.
What I love about Renner, is that she’s so buttoned up and afraid to lose control, she may miss something wonderful right standing right before her eyes. It’s only when she finally gives up just a teeny measure of that guarded control, that she starts to truly feel alive. And you guessed it...Cillian is the one that makes her let loose. After that, her life changes completely and she starts to understand that we may not always know what it is we exactly crave.
OFF COURSE SCENE #5
Pushing myself up off the floor, I drag my jeans on and walk out of Renner's bedroom. Just the thought of seeing her eases some of the anxiety in my chest.
Turning the corner into the kitchen, I see her standing in front of the counter, her back is to me. She's making coffee and I'm struck by how beautiful she is just from the backside.
Her red hair is streaming down her back in loose waves. Her ass is barely hanging into those little white panties and I see a tiny tattoo at the base of her spine where her tank top doesn't quite cover all of her skin. Never in a million years would I have thought sweet Renner would have a tattoo. Peering harder across the distance, I see it's a colorful butterfly.
Figures.
I'm immediately hard again and thoughts of Maeve are gone.
I turn quietly away and walk back to the bedroom, grabbing another condom out of my wallet. When I return to the kitchen, she's still standing there with her back to me, watching the coffee pot drip.
Walking up behind her, I toss the condom on the counter beside the pot, startling her. My hands go to her hips, my thumbs hooking in the waistband of her underwear and I tell her, "Don't move."
But she does, stepping back into my body, and laying her head back on my shoulder. She even gives a sigh of contentment, even though there is nothing peaceful about what I'm feeling right now or getting ready to do.
I release her hips, one hand coming up to smooth the hair away from her neck. The other flattens over her stomach, just briefly, before inching down into the front of her panties. My fingers stroke between her legs, wetting my fingers with her readiness. I lay my lips against her neck and kiss her.
"Bend over," I murmur. "And spread your pretty legs for me."
With my hand still stroking her, she complies.

FACTS ABOUT OFF COURSE
By Sawyer Bennett
· Some of you may know, but I’m an attorney. I got the name Renner from one of the attorneys that was opposing us on a case. I’d never heard that name before and thought it was beautiful and strong. I vowed I’d use it in a story one day.
· My cover model, Alex Johnson, who represents Cillian O’Bradaigh, had two amazing tattoos on the inside of his wrists that say “Love” and “Hope”. I decided to write those into the book and we got an amazing promotional shot showcasing the tats. (insert photo if they want)
· The Hibernian Pub in the book is modeled after a local Irish bar we have here in Raleigh, North Carolina by the same name. It’s owned by a Dubliner and I promised to use the name in the book in exchange for him letting us do the cover photo shoot there.
· When I set out to write this book, I wanted to create the most villainous agitator to date. I think I did that with Maeve. She makes Ryan and Emily’s mom look like a saint, but sadly, she does have some of her own demons that make her that way. Sometimes you will hate her, and you may feel sorry for her on occasion. But then you’ll want to slap her again.
· I had fun throwing in some classic Dublin/Irish slang into the book. Words like “Howeya”, “Eejit”, “Gobshite” and “Bollocks” are not typos!
· Cillian and Renner are classic opposites. Throw into the mix that Cillian is a controlling Alpha, Renner is an independent woman, and watch the sparks fly everywhere.
· You will not get to see many of the other Off characters in this book. Nix makes a hilarious appearance at the end, and you get to meet Renner’s brother, Flynn, who will star in the 5th and probably last book entitled Off Chance. You will get a lot of details on all of the characters in Off Chance though, and their HEA’s will be fully explored.
