InkSlinger Presents Undertow by Leigh T. Moore Blog Tour Stop

Undertow, the shocking sequel to Dragonfly, is OUT NOW!

Early Readers are saying...

"An incredibly powerful sequel to Dragonfly. I found myself riveted to the last page by the depth of feeling, loss, tragedy, and love in this gorgeously woven story. A definite must-read." --Jolene Perry, author of Out of Play

"As far as a second book for a series goes, Undertow knocked it out of the park." --Jessica, Bend in the Binding reviews

"My God I am so emotional! I have to give a huge KUDOS to Leigh because she knows how to write a story like no one's business!" --Tee, Diary of a Book Addict reviews

"Undertow pulled me under and left me gasping for air and wanting so much more. I couldn’t stop thinking about these characters, and now I’ll never be able to get a shirtless Bill Kyser out of my head." --Magan Vernon, bestselling author of The Only Exception

"Amazing! The characters are lovely, but they're also flawed--that sort of 'realness' and honesty breathes life into them and is truly refreshing to come across as a reader. A fantastic story with a unique execution." --Kristin, Goodreads reviewer

Falling in love will pull you under...

-Bill Kyser has a plan to take the sandy farms of his hometown and turn them into a world-class tourist destination--and become a billionaire in the process.

-Alexandra "Lexy" LaSalle has a plan to change her life by becoming a world-famous artist.

-Meg Weaver has a plan to hold onto Bill no matter what she has to do.

Three friends, three dreams.

One fatal decision will change all their lives forever.

In Dragonfly, Bill Kyser gave Anna the three journals that held the story behind the powerful developer's seclusion and the damaged lives of his family members.

Anna hopes to find a way for Julian to know the truth, but as she digs deeper into the tragic events of the past, she realizes silence could be the only option.

Now she's in an alliance with the man she formerly feared. And if Julian finds out what she knows, she could lose for good the boy she's starting to love.

My Review

5 of 5 Bill Kyser

I just finished Undertow and my God I am so emotional! I just can't even think straight right now. I love this series so much and October can't come fast enough to see what happens to everyone. This review is going to be a little different because I feel like I have to say something about each character that played a huge role in this book. As we all know well those of you who have read Dragonfly know that the ending was an incredible ending leaving us with Anna having three journals in her possession given to her by Bill Kyser himself. We get to see a glimpse into Bill, Meg, and Lexy's life. I have to say that this book had me in tears because it had so many emotional things in it and the fearsome three as I like to call Meg, Lexy, and Bill go through some stuff that broke them and now Bill Kyser is ready to let go of the pain and move on to want he has wanted for sometime.

When we first meet Bill Kyser he is drunk and rude and callous to Anna. He scares the crap out of her and Jack is upset that he is acting out when he has company. No one knows the pain that Bill carries and the guilt that he carries with him in regards to raising his children. He loves them all and wants to protect them. Bill has carried his secret long enough and when you find out what it is you are going to be amazed. I actually fell in love with Bill Kyser in this book because what he went through and what he sacrificed to give his family the life they wanted.

Meg... Meg... Meg.... I am so disappointed with you and disgusted by your selfish acts! I HATE HATE HATE HATE women who hold a man by doing what you did. Nothing good comes from lies and secrets and in the end Meg I guess you found that out didn't you. Was it a mistake what happened or did you do that on purpose? Your behavior from the minute you saw Bill Kyser has been nothing but selfishness. Plain and simple you are a selfish B^%$#! I can't believe how you treated your friend and how you treated your husband. Just spoiled rotten and look what that got you in the end. The one fear you had you pushed your husband into because of your insecurities and lies and selfishness!

Lexy AKA Alex.... My heart broke for her. Julian's mother is a special lady that I respect and loved! She was what a real friend should be and yes she made a mistake but she regretted it and she paid for that mistake everyday and she will for the rest of her life. She loved Meg and would do anything for Meg but when Lexy needed Meg she was not there for her. It amazed me how selfless Lexy was and how she wanted to what was right and she punished herself as well as her family to see to it that she kept the peace even after the death of her best friend she kept her promises. I am dying to see what happens in the third book because so much has happened and so much is about to happen.

I want to say this as Anna was reading the journals she realized how much she loves Julian and I can't wait for book three to see if they get their HEA. In book three someone will come back into Anna's life and shake it up can her love for Julian survive? Will Julian still love Anna once the truth is out in the open? What will happen to Bill and Lexy? I have to give a huge KUDOS to Leigh because she knows how to write a story like no one's business!

From Bill's private diary...

Interview With Bill And Lexy:

Today we have two special guests on A Diary Of A Book Addict. You all know I love me some Leigh T. Moore and her Dragonfly Series. She has captured her readers with her swoon worthy story about secrets, lies, families, and redemption. In Dragonfly we met Jack, Lucy, Anna, and Julian. Jack and Lucy are the newbies to town and Anna and Julian have lived there their entire life. In Dragonfly we get the background of the story which is Jack and Lucy have left private school and will be attending public school for the first time. Anna falls in love with Jack and Jack becomes aloof leading her on only to push her away. Fed up Anna realizes that she has someone real close to her that she loves and that loves her back. Then Anna finds out some devastating news about Julian and when she confronts the two people who are keeping the secrets, one of them will deny it and the other will open up and reveal their true feelings for that person.

In Undertow we get the background story of the adults by reading their journals and learning all the secrets and lies that they have held for all these years. Today we have Bill Kyser and Lexy AKA Alex LaSalle here to answer your questions. Thank you Bill and Lexy I am so sorry I meant Alex for stopping by and sharing a little more of yourself with us.

William “Bill” Kyser

1. Bill what was your first impression of Meg when you met her in school?

Hi, Tee, thanks for having me here. Let’s see, when I first saw Meg in high school, I thought she was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. Then when she walked up and introduced herself to me, and she was really into us dating, I thought I was the luckiest guy on the planet. So I guess… it was love at first chat? *shrugs* We were very young.

2. Was it hard for you to stay focused on your dream of building the Phoenicians?

Sometimes it was harder than others. Not necessarily to stay focused so much as to keep believing I could do it—that I would accomplish my big dream. Especially when my life at home got… challenging.

3. Do you regret your time with Meg? Was she the wrong girl for you all along?

The first part of your question is easy—No. I don’t regret being with Meg. I truly loved her once. I still love her as the mother of my children. The second question is harder. “All along” is a tough concept. I will say, I wish I had been firmer about us waiting until after college to get married. I think that would’ve changed everything.

4. What are your true feelings for Alex and will you act on them?

I love her. I want us to be together, and I want her and Julian to live with me in my house. I’m ready to act, but Alex thinks that’s impossible. It’s up to her.

5. Where do you see yourself in a year?

I hope not in the same place I’m in now. It feels like things are changing between Alex and me, and I’m hoping we can finally bury the past and move forward. It’s been almost twenty years, and we’re in our mid-40s for god’s sake.

Alexandra “Lexy”/”Alex” LaSalle

1. Lexy what are your true feelings for Bill?

Hello, Taneesha, thanks for inviting me here. As for your question, *looks down* I’d rather not answer that. I try not to think about Bill.

2. How have you distanced yourself and Julian from Bill for all these years?

Bill knows how I feel. Our town is small, but he and I move in different circles—actually, I don’t think either of us move in any circles any more. I stay on my end of the island, and he stays on his. If Julian needs anything I can’t afford, I send Bill a letter, and he deposits a check in my account. *shrugs* It’s basically that simple.

3. Are you glad the truth is out so to speak?

No. I hoped this would never be out. But I guess that was a foolish hope. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to put two and two together. I suppose people see what they want to see—or what you show them.

4. When it is time to disclose your secret to Julian will you have Bill there?

I can’t imagine that ever happening. I can’t imagine how knowing the truth would make Julian feel. I hope I never have to find out. But to answer your question, No. I’d need to tell Julian in private. Then he could react however he needed to.

5. Where do you see yourself in a year?

I’m right where I want to be. Julian will leave for college, and that might change things. But I don’t have any different plans for the next year.

Bill and Lexy thank you so much for stopping by A Diary Of A Book Addict and sharing your inner secrets with us. We have thoroughly enjoyed your visit and we look forward to reading more about you in the near future.

Three bad things I learned this year:

-People you trust lie, even parents.

-That hot guy, the one who’s totally into you, he might not be the one.

-Things are not always how they appear.

Three good things I learned this year:

-Best friends are always there for you, even when they’re far away.

-That other hot guy, the one who remembers your birthday, he just might be the one.

-Oh, and things are not always how they appear.

Anna Sanders expected an anonymous (and uneventful) senior year until she crossed paths with rich-and-sexy Jack Kyser and his twin sister Lucy.

Pulling Anna into their extravagant lifestyle on the Gulf Coast, Lucy pushed Anna outside her comfort zone, and Jack showed her feelings she’d never experienced... Until he mysteriously withdrew.

Anna turned to her internship at the city paper and to her old attraction for Julian, a handsome local artist and rising star, for distraction. But both led to her discovery of a decades-old secret closely guarded by the twins’ distant, single father.

A secret that could permanently change all their lives.

I've never kept a journal. I wouldn't know what to write in it - I'm a most boring average person who spends most of my free time reading.
