My Review

5 of 5 Love Resolution

HOLY BRUTAL STRENGTH! That is what first comes to my mind because Michelle Mankin you blew my world with this book! Holy freeze balls because I was like on a literal roller coaster ride and I had my moments where I was like oh man these two are not going to make it because lord have mercy love can make you act funny and do funny things that you would not normally do.

Marcus and Avery are making as a couple. The band is getting ready to go on tour and things are going good. Brutal Strength has an opening band Tempest and they are all set to go on tour. But with every rock band there is always drama drama drama and Brutal Strength is not immune to it either. So when the lead man in Tempest Bryan "Bullet" Jackson decides he wants Avery for his own he decides to pursue what he wants. The only thing is Avery and Marcus are strong together as a couple but after Marcus and Avery start to get rocky Avery starts to think that maybe just maybe they are not the power couple they thought they were.

With Avery and Bryan sharing moments Marcus must step up his game and stop being a tool or else he will lose Avery to someone else. But Avery my girl is not so innocent because she has done some things to my man Marcus and she has to work through those things. I am not making excuses for her but she does get a roller coaster of things happening to her in this book and she must deal with her brother and her father and the death of her mother. That stress alone will drive anyone to drink but together Marcus and Avery work but will they stay together and have their HEA? Well I will not tell you because this is one series you need to read spoiler free to enjoy it!

The 2nd book in the Black Cat Records Shakespeare inspired series has more MUSIC, more ROMANCE, and much, much, more STEAM...

The wheels of love are always turning at Black Cat Records. Things are just starting to settle down there, but two Texas sisters are fixin’ to stir things up again at the Vancouver record label. CEO Mary Timmons sets spirited country superstar, Sara Daniels, on a collision course with cocky rocker, Chris Alex. Meanwhile, Brutal Strength’s suave drummer, JR, has his head turned by pretty young intern, Samantha Daniels. Do all their highways lead to happiness or will the wheels fly off when the sisters’ tragic past comes back to haunt them?

Love Revolution is a rock ‘n roll romance inspired by Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and is the second book in the Black Cat Records Trilogy.

My Review

5 of 5 Love Revolution

Man of man I loved Love Evolution but Love Revolution took me by storm. I mean I love me some rocker bad boys but I love me some country singers! Holy Hades Black Cat Recording is a riot. There is always something going on down there and no matter what is going down there is always love in the air. The CEO Mary Timmons just does not realize that she has something at her label but who cares when they are making her music and money right? Well in Love Revolution we get to meet twin sisters Sara and Samantha AKA Sam. Lord those girls are twins but are so different. Sara is the singer and Sam is the brains in the operation.

Sara is starting to fall in love with Rocker Chris Alex. Chris is such a sweet guy and he does everything right but Sara keeps him kinda at a distance. Chris gets under her skin like no one else has. He has shaken her world down to the core.We soon find out why because she has father issues. Her father and mother went through some stuff and she harbors that in her heart and she is so determined not to end up like them. But in the process she may lose the one true love she knows she should be with. What will Sara do? Will she let go of her insecurities or will she keep them and lose Chris forever?

On the other hand Sam is in love with JR the drummer. But her sister Sara warns her against being with him. See JR has a rep as a man whore and her sister wants to protect her so she warns her against being with JR. But the heart wants what the heart wants and it is screaming for JR and Sam to be together. What will Sam do? Will she let her heart have what it wants or will she ruin the only chance she has at true love following after her sisters ideas?

Will the sisters and Chris and JR get a HEA?

Nineteen year old Avery Jones can play the guitar as well as any guy. Better Even.

Brutal Strength, one of the biggest bands around, needs a new lead guitarist.

Seems like the perfect fit, except for one big problem. Temperamental lead singer Marcus Anthony won't allow a woman in his band.

Read Love Evolution, a rock 'n roll adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

My Review

5 of 5 Love Evolution

First I have to say that Love Evolution is one of those rare finds in a read. I mean I loved the cover but I was thinking lord I can't read another rock n roll story where the lead singer is an a$. Then I started reading and I was captivated I mean totally captivated with this story and I had to finish it because I needed to know how two broken people ended up together. Then when I was finished reading it I said holy Moses this book and series is going to be epic because it is such a rare gem.

Avery Jones is not your average girl. She is a loving sister who is in a band with her brother who just so happens to be her twin. But then tragedy strikes and she loses her twin and the band goes no where because a band needs more than one person. If that is not bad Avery finds out her brother owes some money to the mob and they are coming to collect even though her brother is dead she must pay for him.

What is Avery to do? Just when she feels like all is lost she sees that The band Brutal Strength is making a come back after being on the lamb because their front man singer Marcus Anthony has been in rehab. So as part of his release the band is going to come back. Avery is excited because she can play the guitar like no one's business and so she decides to try out. Only problem is my friend Marcus is not having any girl in his band. He is not interested even though she can play she is still a she and he is like no way!

Avery desperate decides that she needs to be a part of this band and so she and her great manager devise a plan for her to get in the band and it works! But then as things always happens the truth comes out. So what happens when the truth about what Avery has done comes out? See the problem is Marcus has started developing feelings for Avery. So what is going to happen? This is the first book in a trilogy and man oh man this is a must read series! Love me some Marcus and Avery.

About the Author:

Michelle Mankin is a young/new adult romance writer as well as a self-proclaimed giant... inside of her own mind!

For many years she worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter. Somehow, the boredom didn't kill her but the hour and hours of looking at facts and figures provided ample time for her mind to wander.

Love Evolution, Love Revolution, and Love Resolution are all part of the Black Cat Records trilogy using the plot underpinnings of Shakespeare combined with the drama, excitement, and indisputable sexiness of the rock 'n roll industry.

When she is not putting her daydreams down on paper, you can find her traveling the world, sometimes for real and sometimes for pretend as she takes the kids back and forth to school.
