BOOK ONE:
Barbie Girl by Heidi Acosta (Baby Doll #1)
Publication date: November 1st 2012
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
Synopsis:
The only thing that 17 year old Barbie Starr wants to do is graduate high school so she and her little brother, Everett, can get out of Alabama. She doesn’t care about the rumors that are spread around about her like wild fire. Rumors are nothing new to her. Sure, maybe she could change her reputation, but why bother. She is leaving Alabama as soon as she can. That is, if she can pass algebra and graduate.
The only thing Dylan Knight would like to do is go through high school unnoticed; he has had enough of the drama that is high school. He took the whole of last summer to bulk-up: finally he is not being called names or being shoved into lockers. He wants to remain on the outside of the circle of constant rumors that surround the so-called popular kids who get all the attention. He would not, however, mind if his long time crush Katie took notice of him.
But it is Barbie who notices Dylan and she offers him a deal he can’t pass up: if he helps her pass algebra, she’ll help him get the girl of his dreams. Dylan agrees, but, as it turns out, nothing is simple when it comes to Barbie. Somehow, she can’t help but draw attention to herself — and to him. Soon Dylan finds himself tossed into the whirlwind of rumors that seem to follow Barbie everywhere. Can he save his reputation and still get the girl of his dreams? Or will Barbie be the one to break through his carefully-built facade?

Character Interview with Barbie:
When Dylan first started tutoring you, you didn't seem all that impressed with him. When did you first start noticing your feelings toward him?
He was such a pretentious ass. Can I say ass? Well he was an ass munch. It was not until I saw him with Emmy that things started to change. Any guy that lets his little sister dress him up, can’t be that much of an ass. But I think I always had feelings for him, ever since I was a little girl. They were just awoken when I saw him with her. And the boy has great abs.
I would say that Dylan seems pretty uptight. Do you think we'll get to see him loosen up in the future?
I hope so that boy is wound as tighter than a rubber band. And any one wound that tight is about to snap.
The ending of Barbie Girl didn't look all that promising for you and Dylan. What's going to be your next move?
Dylan had his chance and he betrayed me. Okay, so I know he didn’t really have a choice and if I was in his shoes I would do the same exact thing. But everything was just so confusing and I have to think of Everett first. So my next move is to just breathe and figure out how I am going live under the same roof as him. And that boy is not making it easy.
Your home life situation wasn't all that great. Actually, it was horrible. If you could say one thing to your mother (and have her actually listen) what would it be?
I would want to know what made her chose drugs over Everett and I. She never spoke much of her past but I know something bad had to happen to make her try to numb her pain the way she does.
What's one thing about you that we don't know?
I have a tattoo. But I am not going to say where or what ;)
What can we expect from you in Barbie World?
I am bound and determined to find out where I came from. I need to find the woman who abandoned my mother and get the questions I have answered.
If you could describe your experience in Barbie Girl with one word, what would it be?
Well there are a few four letter words I would use, but since I can’t say them… Heartbreaking.

AUTHOR BIO:
Heidi Acosta was born on Long Island, New York. Moving around a lot when she was younger, she has lived in New York, Arizona, New York (again), Washington, Georgia, and Florida, in that order. Each place offered her something special, but she will always consider New York her home.
Heidi started writing as soon as she could spell. When she was three, Heidi’s mother gave her a copy of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House in the Big Woods; thus beginning her lifelong love affair with literature.
Writing soon also became a form of therapy for Heidi, when she realized that no matter what was happening in her life, she could find emotional escape while writing. Some of her earliest stories featured her as a princess who explored new worlds with her horse Buttercup. If it sounds romantic, it wasn’t, there was no prince charming in those fairy lands (boys where yucky).
Heidi now resides in Florida with her husband, very active daughter, one hyper Chihuahua, two sweet cats, and one very fat moody cat.

Interview With Heidi:
1. Why don’t we start by telling the folks a little about you?
I am a mother, wife, sister, writer, zumba newbie, and book devourer.
2. When and why did you start writing?
I have always loved to write ever since I can remember, but it wasn’t until last year that I decided to pursue it as a career.
3. Who is your favorite author and why?
OMG! There are so many and they change every time I read a new book. I would have to say right now my favorite is Jessica Sorensen. She is a wonderful writer and a successful indie author and I admire that about her.
4. Do you feel that any authors inspired your writing? Do you feel that your writing is modeled after him/her?
There are too many authors to name that inspired my writing, every book that I have ever read and fell in love with inspired me in some way. I am sure that some of my writing style is modeled after them, and I can only hope to be as talented.
5. What do you hope to accomplish with your writing?
Ultimately, I would like to be able to support myself with my writing. But more than that I want my stories to mean something to the reader. I want them to love the characters as much as I do and to me that is priceless.
6. Traditional or self-publishing and why?
Right now I am self-publishing, but I am also looking into Traditional. I think both have their ups and downs.
7. Tell us about your most recent book and why we should love or hate your characters.
My most recent book is Barbie World. It is the second installment in the Baby Doll series coming out June 15 2013. You should love the characters because they stay true to themselves. I think people will fall in love with Dylan and Barbie all over again. Dylan especially, he has been through a lot with Barbie and it has helped him grow up. This time he is going to have to work hard to get her attention. Barbie World is filled with heart break, friendship, love, and some great laugh out loud Third moments.
8. If your book had a soundtrack, what is the first 5 songs you would include?
The first five songs on the Barbie World playlist.
1. This year’s loving by David Gray
2. Skyscraper by Demi Lovato
3. Shattered by O.A.R
4. Stay by Rihanna
5. I almost do by Taylor Swift
9. Aside from writing or reading, what is your favorite pastime?
I love to spend time with my daughter. We like to watch movies, go shopping, and go to the beach. I also love to travel, so anytime there is an opportunity for that I take it.
10. What is the one thing you want to do, or the one place you want to go, that you would put at #1 on your bucket list?
Europe, I have not been and I want to go so bad. I would love to go for a month and back pack around Europe.
11. Finally, what else would you like readers to know?
Barbie World picks up where Barbie Girl ended, so I think they are going to be excited to jump right back into Barbie’s world.
