My Review
4 of 5 Surrender
First I have to start out this review by saying that I normally don't read fantasy books but this series has so taken me by surprise I found myself wanting and needing more. Rhiannon has taken her time to introduce a new world to readers and in doing so she has her descriptions of this new world lined out and ready for you to read and while you are reading about it you can visualize the places and things she is describing. To me this is crucial when building a new world because telling a story and not giving us any background is very annoying but Rhiannon pulls it off and it made me love this series even more.
Kaliel is one of the main characters and she is a great character. Choosing to do what she wants and follow her heart she sets things into motion that she never expected to. You know the saying the heart wants what the heart wants but at what cost are you willing to pay? For Kaliel it is a matter of life and death and war. What is she willing to surrender in order to be with Krishani?
Krishani is a great character as well as he played his part and he was willing to sacrifice for what he wanted in the end. This story is such a must read I kept saying to my friend who buddy read this with me did you get that, is that so, why is that happening like this was for real. We laughed and we cried and man the ending is something else that had me screaming I needed more no I wanted more because I was not ready to see this world go yet.

4 of 5 Lantern & Poison
Lantern & Poison is a short Novella that is told from the villain's POV. I have to say that I love me some bad boys but lord help us with Crestaos. Kaliel will do anything for the one she loves and Krishani will do the same. This novella takes place in the first book giving us more insight to the Flames and what they are and what they do. They have awoken Crestaos without fully understanding what they were getting themselves into. Crestaos is a cruel person and once he is awoken he is even worse.
In this short Novella we get the background of Crestaos and find out about the Flames. The Flames are weapons created to defeat the Valtanyana. Each of the flames is one of a kind.As you learn about each flame and the powers it possess you are drawn back into the world of Kaliel and Krishani and what they are willing to do to protect the ones they love.

5 of 5 Justice
Justice is the second book in the series and right away I was blown away by it. I have to say as the series continues Rhiannon starts to knock it out the park with her descriptions of the world and characters in it and she also supports those characters by having them experience things and over come them. Justice is very much Krishani's story. Krishani is still reeling from the loss of Kaliel buit he is determined to make sure that the Flames are kept safe. If you have been following this series then you know that the Flames are very important and need to be protected at all times. They are rare and one of a kind and to lose one would be tragic.
Krishani is traveling to the land of men. He knew he would have to eventually but his anger and frustrations are felt in Justice. He wants no he needs to find the person who took everything from him. He needs Justice because he may never be able to embrace what he needs to embrace without it. There are enemies everywhere he turns. His own family are enemies and friends well let's just say he hates them because everyone has their own motives and are out to get their own needs met.
Krishani trust no one and he feels like the walls are closing in but he is determined to see this through. He has to in order to become who he needs to become. He feels like he can't stop the curse but in time if he continues to go on the right path and embrace what and who he is supposed to be he can defeat the curse. The ending for Justice Lord Rhiannon you are one for endings and had me screaming oh hell no I need book three like yesterday!

5 of 5 Blood & Gold
Blood & Gold is a novella taken place right after Justice. Crestaos is just plain evil and will stop at nothing to get the flames. He wants them so bad he is willing to kill anyone or anything that comes in his way. He has risen the goblins and he is determined to raise the Mithronian Army. He has tried and has not been successful but he feels like he is getting close because he was able to raise the goblins. Crestaos felt the ground move so he knows that the army is buried deep into the ground.
Crestaos also realizes that the way the lands where when he was first alive is not like they are now. The lands of Immortals, the dead, and men have changed drastically to the point that Crestaos is willing to hunt down everyone standing in his way in order to get the flames. The key to everything are the flames and crestaos is so determined to get all of them he is willing to destroy everything in his path.
Man this novella is short but it packs a punch and I will say this one of the flames is so bad ass she is incredible! It had me sitting at the edge of my seat saying holy moly what is going on! I need book three like now right now because this novella gave me a little of what is to come and boy oh boy Crestaos it looks like you will get your come uppings.
