Her Majesty’s Enforcers are in pursuit of the murderer and they see a connection between the gruesome deaths and Cara. So does she, somewhere in London her father hid Nefertiti’s Heart, a fist sized diamond with strange mechanical workings. Adding further complication to her life, notorious crime lord, Viscount Nathaniel Lyons is relentless in his desire to lay his hands on Cara and the priceless artifact. If only she could figure out his motive.

My Review

5 of 5 Nefertiti's Heart

Nefertiti's Heart is an INCREDIBLE read! I have only read a few steam punk books and this one takes the cake. The descriptions of the scenes and the people have you right there in the moment and as you are reading you are thrown into a world where there are so many lies, secrets, and danger. This story had me thinking things that made me mad. I wanted to reach in the book and kill a few people and then kiss and hug a few people.

Cara has had a rough childhood. Her father was a gambler and he lost a lot of money and did not have the money to pay the debt so he did the most unspeakable act a parent could do he gave his daughter to the man he owed the debt. After reading that I was like WTF who does that to their child but this tool did and he caused Cara to have a horrible childhood. Then Cara goes to live with her grandmother and I just loved that lady to pieces because she cared for Cara the way she should have been taken care of all these years.

And as if the Gods have spoken Cara's father is murdered and Cara goes back home to sell his stuff and move on. She does not care about her father and for good reasons. But when Cara gets back home she finds herself caught up in the middle of her fathers murder investigation.See there is someone killing Nobel women by stabbing them in the heart and Cara knows what the person is after because her father has what that person is looking for, Nefertiti's Heart.

Thank God Cara has Nate on her side and she does not know it yet but when she meets Nate she is a little leery of him but she trusts him. Thank God for that because Nate may want that heart but he is also intrigued by Cara and wants her heart as well. But first they have to figure out where the heart is and who is killing all these women and what it means before Cara is next on the list.

Man this book is so filled with so many toss and turns it will leave you breathless. The time period is one I love and the author does it justice. SO what are you waiting for go out and read this book!
Author Bio:
Books and writing have always been an enormous part of my life. I survived school by hiding out in the library, with several thousand fictional characters for company. At university, I overcame the boredom of studying accountancy by squeezing in Egyptology papers and learning to read hieroglyphics.

Today, I write steampunk novels with a sexy edge and an Egyptian twist. I live in rural New Zealand surrounded by an assortment of weird and wonderful equines, felines, canine and homicidal chickens.
